Examples of Work that SUPERVISOR™ can do, to eliminate work for technicians:

  1. Change the Enable password, on every device, at once
  2. Change the authentication from local to a Radius server
  3. Change SNMP community strings
  4. Add a route process
  5. Add a network to a routing process
  6. Change the NTP server to one of the core devices
  7. Revise the banner messages to reflect a required wording change
  8. Add a NAT statement
  9. Define a revised QoS policy and apply it to all the Fast Ethernet interfaces
  10. Ensure all devices have the same TACACS server entries
  11. Remove old or outdated local user accounts
  12. Add network summarization statements to an interface
  13. Change the dial-backup number to reflect a new long-distance provider
  14. Convert a frame-relay based connection, to an MPLS-based connection
  15. Enforce VLAN consistency, enforce correct VTP participation
  16. Convert an access-based port to a trunk port
  17. Revise a DHCP scope to reflect a new DNS server
  18. Correct an errant switch that has taken the role of spanning-tree root
  19. Clear all routing processes, clear caches, and reset the router without having to reboot it
  20. Force a save of the current running configuration to both NVRAM and a TFTP server
  21. Change dial peering on VoIP gateways
  22. Turn off a rogue port
  23. Deny access to an IP engaged in nefarious activity
  24. Change the assigned VLAN of a port
  25. Change the IP addressing on the device (Note: connectivity must be maintained)
  26. Apply a new IPSec policy for IKE negotiation
  27. Add a static encryption key for a new site on the VPN
  28. Swing all Certificate-based VPN routers to a new authority, and refresh their certificates
  29. Create a new VLAN, and the appropriate interfaces, IP addresses and routing statements to get the new subnet operational
  30. Convert from EIGRP to OSPF, everywhere, all at once
  31. Execute Step14.B-7 of the Standard DR Exercise Procedure by applying the requisite configuration changes to the applicable devices
  32. Download a new IOS version from a TFTP server
  33. Create a new SSH key, enable SSH version 2, and disable Telnet access
  34. Repair/correct duplex mismatches.
